Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble at Windsor High School is the advanced concert band. The Wind Ensemble consists of students from grades 9-12, but is mostly made up of upperclassmen, and only consists of students who are high-achieving on their instrument. The Wind Ensemble is an auditioned group. Students will audition for concert band placements in the fall after marching band season. Students will be placed in Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Within these ensembles, students will be assigned a chair based on the outcomes of the audition. The Wind Ensemble performs concerts throughout the year, and at the Missouri State High School Activities Association Large Ensemble Festival, where the band performs a selection of prepared pieces and sight-reading for a panel of adjudicators, earning a rating for that year. In addition to traditional concert band instruction, students will also participate in a solo/small ensemble unit where students will take either a solo or small ensemble to a festival to be adjudicated for a rating.

The Windsor High School Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the 2024 Missouri Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop/Conference.
