Jacob Bubb – Director of Windsor Bands

As Director of Bands at Windsor High School, Jacob Bubb directs the Golden Brigade Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, two Jazz Ensembles, Percussion Ensemble,and assists with Windsor Indoor (WGI Winter Winds). During his time at Windsor, participation in the band program has grown by over 50%, the Golden Brigade has earned numerous first and second place finishes at local regional marching band competitions, and added a second Jazz Ensemble.

Mr. Bubb began his career in education in 2015 as the Director of Bands for the McLouth (Kansas) School District, where he led the 5-12 instrumental music program. During his three years at McLouth, the band program had significant enrollment growth, earned exemplary I ratings at large ensemble festival, and the bands traveled to Chicago and New Orleans.

Mr. Bubb earned a Bachelors in Music Education from the Conservatory at University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he studied euphonium with Tom Stein and performed under the batons of Steven D. Davis and Joseph Parisi in the Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble. In addition to his schooling, he served as the Operations Assistant for the Youth Symphony of Kansas City, organizing weekly rehearsals for the 300+ member program, and assisting in the planning of performances at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference, Midwest Clinic, and international tours to Ireland, Austria, and Germany.

Mr. Bubb is also an active performer as a trombone and euphonium player in the St. Louis area. He has played with the Compton Heights Concert Band of St. Louis, St. Louis Wind Symphony, and a variety of local gig performances.

Mr. Bubb lives in Jefferson County with his wife, Caitlyn and daughter Caroline.


Assistant Director Ryan Staines

Ryan Staines is currently in his 6th year as the Assistant Band Director in the Windsor C-1 School District. At Windsor, Mr. Staines leads the middle school’s Beginning Band, Junior Band, and Cadet Band. He also leads the high school’s Symphonic Band, assisting with the Golden Brigade Marching Band. Mr. Staines is also the director of the school’s winter winds marching program, Windsor Indoor.

Prior to his time at Windsor, Mr. Staines earned his Bachelor of Arts in Instrumental Music and Master of Arts in Education from Truman State University. At Truman, he had the privilege of being in the trumpet studio led by Dr. Gregory Jones and Dr. Eric Dickson. He also spent time performing in Truman’s Wind Symphony I under the direction of Mr. Dan Peterson and Dr. Curran Prendergast.

Mr. Staines has been an active performer in the St. Louis area, spending time with the St. Louis Wind Symphony, University City Summer Band, and St. Charles Community Band. He also had the opportunity to perform with the Bluecoats’ 50th Anniversary Alumni Corps at Drum Corps International’s 2022 World Championship event.


Jessica Williams, Windsor Guard Director

Jessica has been involved with the pageantry arts for over two decades. She has trained mainly in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and musical theater. She became a competition dancer in Detroit, MI where she lived from 1998-2005 and continued her training in college as part of the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine arts at Webster University, from 2005-2009. In 2009 she graduated with a degree from Webster University in Math and Dance. In 2010 she started at Windsor High School with the Windsor Golden Brigade Marching Band as the movement coordinator, and took over as the Director of Color Guard in 2011. She has been working with the Windsor Golden Brigade and Color/Winter Guard ever since. In 2015 she performed with Avidity Independent of McKendree University in the Independent World division. At Windsor High School Jessica has led the Color Guard to receive many “Outstanding Auxiliary” award captions over the years with the Windsor Golden Brigade. In 2018 she worked with the Inaugural Windsor Indoor Winds program and helped lead them to an MCCGA Silver Medal. She has also led the indoor Winter Guard to an MCCGA Silver Medal 2021, MCCGA Bronze Medal 2022, WGI Finalist in 2023, and MCCGA Gold Medal 2023.

In addition to working with the Windsor Band and Guard programs, Jessica works full-time as a Network Engineer for Verizon. Jessica is excited to see the Windsor Golden Brigade continue to grow and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Windsor Band and Guard programs.
